Back to School with Kim & Scott’s

The bathing suits and sun block have been stowed for the season and thoughts turn to homework and packing school lunches. As you may know offering your children a healthy, power packed lunch will help sustain them throughout the day of learning.

Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels are a great alternative to the predictable PB&J (and our pretzels are nut-free and ideal for kids with nut allergies). Just pop a frozen pretzel into a lunchbox and by lunchtime the pretzel is defrosted and ready to enjoy. You can find our pretzels nationwide in the frozen aisles of Whole Foods, Jewel, Kroger, Walmart, SuperTarget, Wegman’s and more.

And when the kids get off the bus ravenous, just heat up a pretzel for 45 seconds in the microwave. This will keep the kiddies going throughout an afternoon of activities and homework.

Parents to three elementary school kids, founders Kim and Scott Holstein know the importance of raising “dough” for schools. Visit our website, www.kimandscotts.com to learn how your school could join our “Pretzel Dough” box top initiative and raise money for your schools’ programs.

Be sure to become a Facebook fan to get coupons and news from Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels, www.Facebook.com/Kimandscotts.

Good luck this school year!

Building the Buzz at Café Twist

As small business owners we love to use social media. Not only is it a great vehicle for us to share with you what’s happening at Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels and Kim & Scott’s Café Twist, but also a perfect way for us to hear from our customers.

While Kim is an active member of the Women’s Business Development Center of Chicago, she thought it would be a great idea to team with them and host a social media seminar for small business owners.

On Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Café Twist, 2218 N. Lincoln Ave., the WBDC and Kim & Scott’s will host the first of a three-part series on social media and what it can do for small businesses like ours.

If you are part of a small business and want to attend this seminar, please RSVP to Julie@kimandscotts.com by Sept. 20. Space is limited. The cost is $30 with a reservation or $35 at the door. The event will include appetizers, networking and social media experts who will share tips and client success stories.

We love that so many of our customers are entrepreneurs like us. Sure we love to hear from you on social media, but why not connect in person too! Hope to see you there!

Do the Pretzel Twist!

Chicago Park District kids participate in a Twist-n-Top

These days isn’t everyone trying to come up with something new, different and fresh? It’s always fun to be the first on the block and that’s why we want to tell you about our Twist-n-Top parties. Kim & Scott’s is known for its stuffed soft pretzels that are found in the frozen aisle of the grocery store. But now we can bring that twisted fun to your house, school or even business (a delicious team building exercise).

Grab a group of kids or friends and allow us to teach them how to twist pretzel dough into the iconic pretzel shape. Our pretzel professor brings toppings like all-natural chocolate chips, marshmallows, cinnamon sugar and food coloring and guests personalize their pretzels. We can bake ‘em at your space and about 20 minutes later, everyone is enjoying their fresh baked creation.

And if you’re looking to host something elsewhere, reserve some space at Kim & Scott’s Café Twist where we can twist the day away!

Let’s not forget about our pretzel carts. We can stop by your office for a happy hour. Actually any hour would be happy if we stopped by!

For more information on Twist-n-Top parties or our pretzel cart, give us a call at 1-800-57-TWIST.

Beat the heat with a new menu at Café Twist

Does the scorching summer heat have you sticking indoors and getting creative in the kitchen? We’re doing our best to dodge the heat, and using Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels in all different recipes. Even our Chicago café, Café Twist, is introducing a new menu complete with pretzel paninis and pretzel sliders. Yum!

How are you enjoying your Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels? With thoughts of kids going back to school, did you ever think of putting a frozen pretzel in a lunch box? The pretzels will be defrosted and delicious by the lunch bell.

Visit us on Facebook and Twitter to see mouth watering pictures of our new Café menu items. Be sure to send us your pretzel pics too.
