Twisted Dinners for a Hot Days

With most of the country experiencing extremely hot temperatures, we know you don’t want to turn on the oven! Here are some ideas for twisted dinners!

Pretzels and Salad: Defrost your favorite Kim & Scott’s pretzel, whether it be grilled cheese, traditional or spinach and feta. Either serve as is, since our product is ready to use, or warm up on the toaster oven or in the microwave. Pair your pretzel with a simple salad and you have a light, filling meal.

Pretzel SandwichPretzel Sandwiches and Your Favorite Side: Defrost one of our traditional or sourdough pretzels. Slice it in half like you would a piece of french bread. Add your favorite deli meats, cheeses and toppings. Place the top of the pretzels back on and voila! A twisted sandwich. Serve with your favorite side and a pickle if you’d like!

What kinds of twisted dinners do you make on hot days? Share your recipes with us! We’d love to share them!

Summer Camp Lunches Get Twisted

Just as your thought you were through with coming up with creative lunch ideas for your child when school was over, now you have to come up with fun ideas for camp lunches! Ah, the joys of being a busy parent.

How about including your child’s favorite Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzel in their brown bag? Because our pretzels are fully baked, all you have to do is take them out of the freezer and pop them into their lunch! By the time it’s time to eat, the pretzel will be thawed and at room temperature. It’s healthy too! All of our pretzels are nut-free and all natural.

Instead of making a cheese sandwich, just throw in one of our grilled cheese stuffed pretzels. Or maybe your child really loves pizza! How about our stuffed pizza pretzel! Pair their favorite pretzel with an apple, veggies and ranch dip and call it a day.

Your children will come home thanking you because they had the lunch that was envied by all their friends.

Honor The Celiacs in Your Life By Being Informed

It’s National Celiac Awareness Month. How many people in your life are affected by celiac disease?

Some have chosen to go gluten-free because of the health benefits. For many, the decision wasn’t theirs.

Here are some interesting facts about Celiac Disease from The Celiac Disease Foundation:

  • The cause of the disease is unknown.
  • One out of 133 people in the United States is affected by this disease.
  • Celiac disease is NOT a food allergy. It is an autoimmune disease.
  • Gluten triggers an autoimmune reaction.

At Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy our product. That’s why we have developed a gluten-free pretzel!

Honor the celiacs in your life by ensuring they can enjoy the same foods as you. At your next get together, put out some gluten-free pretzels for them. Your friends and family will thank you!

Kindness Connection

Year round Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels works to make a difference in the world community.  And on this special day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we are honored to be a part of the work of The Kindness Connection.  The Kindness Connection is a non-for-profit organization that facilitates volunteer work for students.

In celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., New Trier High School and the Kindness Connection worked together today at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.  The day was filled with family-based volunteer projects, all to benefit the elderly, sick patients in hospitals, veterans, children in need and homeless.

Kim & Scott’s donated pretzels and helped to raise money for the good work they did today.  We can’t think of a better way to commemorate Dr. King.  This is certainly Pretzels with a Purpose in action!
