How do we get our flavors anyway? That’s a really good question. And in honor of May’s quirky Apple Pie Day and the odd, yet delicious sounding, Blueberry Cheesecake Day, we’ll give you some answers.
More than 16 years ago, Kim was an ad exec honing her entrepreneurial skills. She read an article about the soft pretzel making a comeback and couldn’t get the doughy snack out of her head. Soon thereafter she met Scott (a great love story, but for a different blog) and the two set up shop in Kim’s Lincoln Park studio apartment. They tried recipe after recipe and flavor after flavor. Kim was obsessed with a chocolate chip pretzel…isn’t everyone? While the chocolate stuck around, the onion dill didn’t make the cut.
Today, Kim & Scott’s of course bakes the traditional Bavarian soft pretzel, but our stuff varieties including Apple Cinnamon, Chocolate Crumb, Cheddar Jalapeno, Pizza and Grilled Cheese are at the top of our sales charts. We use only premium ingredients and proudly bake with whole grains.
And don’t know what to make of a sweet pretzel or a stuffed one? Break out of your plain pretzel mold and stop by the frozen aisles of Whole Foods, Jewel, Kroger, Super Target and Walmart to try us out. We promise you won’t be disappointed!
