Spring is in the air, and so is the stink of school budgets. Sure budgets can always work in our children’s favor, but sometimes they don’t. Today is the day our community votes to make a difference in our schools. This day will let us know if our schools will keep the programs and activities that made us choose to live where we live and get our children their education.
This past week I watched our three kids make signs to vote in favor of the referendum to keep programming alive at our neighborhood schools. It was great to see them take pride in their schools and their teachers. They stood on street corners making sure passers -by saw the faces that they were affecting if they voted against this referendum.
The economy has hit everywhere. But our kids cannot suffer because of this. As the future leaders of our country, we owe it to them to vote “yes.”
