HPHS Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Charity Drive

Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America

Last night, the Highland Park High School Charity Drive conducted an “HP Idol” competition to raise funds for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America and we were lucky enough to be a part of it!  Students at the school were given a 45 second time limit to sing and perform before friends, family and faculty.  After all participants had performed, the audience was invited to “vote” by placing donations in the each performer’s corresponding collection boxes.  The top five acts who raised the most cash were then advanced to the finals, where the three student judges evaluated their performances and selected the winner.

We sold our Mozzarella Pizza Stuffed Pretzels and Traditional Bavarian pretzels to the attending audience members, event staff, and performers with all of the proceeds going to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America’s local Illinois chapter.  K&S also contributed several cases of pretzels for the Charity Drive to sell to raise additional funds during lunch at the school.

Our company has been fortunate enough to have a strong relationship with CCFA, and are an annual sponsor of their “Take Steps, Be Heard” Walks which have raised over $13 million for research and patient service programs in the last two years alone. We will be providing delicious pretzels to all the walkers and volunteer staff at the upcoming Take Steps Walks in Glenview IL on May 16, Chicago on May 22, and Lisle IL on May 23.
