Excitement on WGN Midday News!

WGN-Segment-Frame

We were featured on WGN-TV’s midday news with Allison Payne today.  We demonstrated a Stuffed Pizza Pretzel recipe that you can make at home!  We took Allison through the steps, and also showed her how to twist a pretzel.  It was a ton of fun.

Allison was also nice enough to mention our mission to live “pretzels with a purpose,” which opened the door for us to tease some very exciting news about a program we are launching nationally very soon that empowers kids to “raise some dough” for their school.  In this economy it’s more important than ever to help save critical school programs that help shape the young minds of our future.

Stay tuned for our exciting announcement.  We can’t wait to share the news and get your feedback, as you all have been so helpful and supportive in our mission.

Peace

A Twisted Review and Pretzel Giveaway!

Our good friends at RFAK.org  – Raising Food Allergic Kids have posted a terrific review about our pretzels! RFAK really shares our company vision to being conscious to the ingredients we use in our products. We have lots of friends whose children deal with severe nut allergies. From the very start of our business, we wanted to ensure kids with nut allergies could safely enjoy our twisted treats and we made a commitment to only make nut free soft pretzels.

We sent our Original Variety Sampler to RFAK for them to enjoy and they sent us some terrific pictures that we just have to share! Be sure to check out their posting at RFAK.org and join in on your chance to win some great pretzel prizes!

Twisting for the Cure! on QVC

pinkribbonpretzeliw

I’m in the Green Room at QVC, waiting to go on air (at 1:06PM EST) to sell our Pink Ribbon stuffed gourmet pretzels with 10% of all sales going to breast cancer research. It’s a cause very close to us. My mom, grandmother, and aunt all had breast cancer, and a close friend of ours died at 38. It seems to touch everyone in some way.

We want to do all we can to support breast cancer research and twist for the cure. It’s a big part of our Pretzels for Peace initiative. I have two daughters, ages 9 and 6…and it’s my hope that breast cancer will be non-existent by the time they’re grown up.

The Pink Ribbon pretzel is our Cinnamon Roll pretzel, a sweet dough stuffed with butter, cinnamon, sugar and topped with a cinnamon crumb topping and drizzled. and topped with a natural pink icing. This is one of my favorites… AND for such great cause! It’s all part of our committment to live pretzels with a purpose. Watch at 1:06PM EST!

All the Best,
Kim

Happy National Pretzel Day!

pretzelgraphicandearth1National Pretzel Day is this Sunday the 26th and we have a lot going on! To kick off the morning – Kim and Scott will be on CBS Channel 2 Morning News twisting pretzels with the news anchors, so be sure to set those DVRs and tune in between 10 – 10:45. Later in the afternoon some of our Twisted Team members will be at Whole Foods in Lincoln Park, encouraging customers to donate canned food. Each person that brings us 1 can of non perishable food will get one warm, soft pretzel! We will be at the entrance of the store from 12-3 handing out coupons and pretzel rods to everyone who enters. We would love for you to join us if you live in the Chicagoland!

Celebrate this TWISTED Day with us and live Pretzels With A Purpose!

Happy Earth Day!

Volunteer Graphic

Tonight we will be participating in an Earth Day Celebration with Go GREEN Management! We will be sampling our pretzels and mingling with Green minded professionals and companies in Chicago. Going Green for Good & Whole Foods Local Vendor Fair

Going Green for Good

Saturday, we joined The Glen Town center again for their second annual Going Green for Good event. It was a family fun event dedicated to sharing green ideas and activities with families and children. They had storytellers, craft activities, face painting, and Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels twisted pretzels with kids. The kids were so excited and many of the families were familiar with our cafe in the Kohl Children’s Museum. We twisted pretzels, gave out “I (heart) earth” buttons, green tips cards, and will be planting a tree for every child that twisted and every new pretzel club sign up. Thank you to every one who stopped by and twisted pretzels with us. We’re going to plant 45 trees for all the participants and new pretzel club members!

Whole Foods Sauganash

We had the great opportunity to join Whole Foods Sauganash (South Cicero Ave) for their local vendor fair, featuring 8 of Chicago’s most popular vendors sold at Whole Foods. We sampled hot Pizza, Grilled Cheese, Sourdough Parmesan, Apple Cinnamon, and Traditional Bavarian. We have really built a strong relationship with our Chicago-area Whole Foods stores and have many more events with them scheduled. Continue to check out our Events calendar on our website for future events at www.kimandscotts.com.

National Start! Walking Day was a great success! Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels handed out Whole Grain Bavarian pretzels- actually 800 of them in 10 minutes flat!  Some of our twisted team members also walked and participated in the fun activities.  We also want to thank our Pretzel Fans out there that came by the table with the code word for a free “Get Twisted” t-shirt! We’ll start doing this more at our events, as we love our twisted community!

Our pictures can be viewed on Flickr (see below right). Hopefully they will inspire you to get out and get active…or at least get twisted!
